What should the Town’s transportation network – including roads and bicycle/pedestrian links – look like in the future?
The Town would like public feedback on that question as it works to finalize its Transportation Master Plan update.
Transportation Master Plan Open House
Task: to solicit input on a draft of the plan
Thursday July 28
4 to 7 p.m. Thursday
Philip S. Miller Library - Castle Rock Bank Rooms
100 S. Wilcox St. Castle Rock CO
The Transportation Master Plan will help set transportation project priorities for the Town through 2030.
Castle Rock’s current Transportation Master Plan was created in 2003 and revised slightly in 2004 and 2007. A major update to the plan now is needed for several reasons:
- The Town’s population has increased by more than 60 percent since the 2003 plan was created
- The recent economic downturn has made it necessary to revise population and employment forecasts used in the previous plan
- Many of the projects identified in the 2003 Transportation Master Plan have been completed
Additionally, the new plan will emphasize bicycle and pedestrian improvements in hopes of making the Town friendlier to those types of transportation.
At the open house, information from the draft plan will be presented, and Town staff will be present to answer questions.
Those who cannot attend the open house but would like to provide feedback can do so at CRgov.com/TMP, where the draft plan is expected to be posted by the end of July.
The draft also will be presented for public comment at the Aug. 2 Town Council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St. Town staff hopes to finalize the plan by the end of September.
