Cyrano de Bergerac auditions
Classic Acts, a local children’s play producer, is directing its first show with an adult cast.
Ages 16 and older can audition for Cyrano de Bergerac
July 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Auditioners must prepare a one minute dramatic monologue.
The play centers on the main character and title’s namesake, Cyrano de Bergerac. Cyrano is an exceptional soldier, poet, intellectual and loyal friend, but he believes no woman can ever love him and his humongous nose. Cyrano adores the beautiful Roxane so much that he helps the handsome, less intelligent, Christian win her love by providing the words to woo her, even though doing so means Cyrano will never win her heart. Like the original Edmond Rostand work, much of Nagel Jackson’s translation of this play is presented in humorous verse.
If selected for the cast, rehearsals run for five weeks, culminating in performances on Aug. 26 and 27 at the Mainstreet Center.
